When you think about your out of pocket costs, consider how much you’ll pay each month for coverage, whether you’ll need to meet an annual deductible, and how much of a copay you will pay to see a doctor. Also, think about whether you’re okay staying within a provider network to keep your costs lower or if you want to visit providers outside of your plan's network. With the Freedom plans (CWA Unity, Union Negotiated, and HDHP) you have access to the Choice POS II network. This gives you the care you need, where and how you want it. You can see doctors you trust and feel comfortable with nationwide. All plans provide the same services, programs, and support. The difference between plans is the copay or deductible you will have to pay for services and your health insurance premium.

This is a new kind of plan that gives you more ways to save and stay healthy, without compromising quality. When you need care, you have two “tiers” of providers to choose from: Tier 1 providers are part of the Aetna Premier Care Network Plus network (APCN), and Tier 2 providers are part of the nationwide Open Access Aetna Select℠ network. You’ll save money when you stay within the Tier 1 network for care. APCN plus multi-tier is a tiered performance network which offers coverage in 24 states including NJ, NY and PA.

The HMO plan is ideal for employees who want fixed, predictable costs. It’s an in-network-only plan, which means you’ll need to use providers within the nationwide Aetna Select network to receive coverage.

Your Aetna Freedom plan choices include two high-deductible health plan (HDHP) options: Freedom HDHigh and HDLow. You can pair a HDHP plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) to help pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses.

Your HSA offers triple tax savings: your contributions are pre-tax, your investment growth is tax-free, and qualified withdrawals for health care expenses are tax-free. And all unused money is yours to keep - even if you leave the plan.
